Man with Van Hoxton Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made on behalf of Man with Van Hoxton and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in all aspects of our work.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Hoxton provides transport, removal, and associated services to individual and business customers. Our operations are primarily based in the United Kingdom, and our supply chains include vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, subcontracted drivers and loaders, and office and technology service providers.
We acknowledge that certain parts of our supply chain, particularly where subcontracted labour and logistics services are involved, may present a higher risk of labour exploitation. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and reducing these risks wherever they may arise.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Man with Van Hoxton has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and child labour. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that fails to uphold these principles. Any employee, contractor, or supplier found to be involved in modern slavery will face immediate and decisive action, which may include termination of employment or contract and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Policies and Responsibilities
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is supported by internal policies on ethical conduct, recruitment, and whistleblowing. Management is responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with this statement. All employees are expected to act with integrity, report concerns, and cooperate with any investigations related to modern slavery or unethical practices.
We strive to ensure that all recruitment, whether direct or through agencies, is transparent and fair. We do not charge workers recruitment fees, and we ensure that employees and contractors have the legal right to work and are engaged under clear terms and conditions.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to ethical labour practices. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we make clear our zero-tolerance position on modern slavery and require suppliers to comply with relevant labour and human rights legislation.
Where appropriate, we carry out risk-based supplier audits and assessments. These may include requesting evidence of labour practices, policies, and due diligence procedures, as well as on-site visits and interviews. If a supplier fails to meet our standards or refuses to engage constructively on identified risks, we will review the relationship and may suspend or terminate our contract with them.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, especially those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management. Training and guidance focus on recognising warning signs, understanding the rights of workers, and knowing how to respond to concerns.
Employees, contractors, and third parties are encouraged to report any suspicions or concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations or supply chains. Reports can be made internally to line managers or senior management. We will investigate all concerns promptly and sensitively, and we will protect individuals who report genuine concerns in good faith from retaliation or detriment.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. We will regularly review our processes for identifying and managing risks, our supplier due diligence, and the effectiveness of our training and reporting mechanisms.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed and updated at least once every year, or sooner if there are significant changes in our business operations or in relevant legislation and guidance. The annual review will consider any incidents, audit outcomes, stakeholder feedback, and changes in risk exposure, with the aim of strengthening our approach and promoting ethical practices across our supply chain.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Hoxton and reflects our commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting the rights and dignity of all workers connected to our business.
